'World reporting highest ever surge in COVID cases,' warns Centre in advisory for states

In new advisory for states, the Centre on Saturday warned, "In the context of the spread of Variant of Concern Omicron, the world is currently reporting the highest ever surge in COVID-19 cases." The Centre has advised states to set up field/makeshift hospitals and form special teams to monitor patients under home isolation.
