World's largest & oldest whale graveyard found in Indian Ocean

Scientists discovered world's largest, oldest and deepest known whale graveyard in the Diamantina fracture zone of the Indian Ocean. Some remains date back 5.3 million years, making it a huge discovery. Scientists also found a new species of now-extinct whale. The site led to the discovery of around 500 skeletons and is around 7 km deep and 1,200 km long.
