The world's longest snake has been found in the Maros region of Sulawesi, Indonesia. The giant female reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus) is the longest snake to be formally measured. Guinness World Records has confirmed its length to be 7.22 metres (23 feet and eight inches) from head to tail tip.
