World's oldest wine discovered in 2,000-year-old Roman tomb
Archaeologists in Spain have discovered a 2,000-year-old Roman tomb containing a glass funerary urn filled with preserved white wine. The urn's seal protected the wine from environmental damage, preserving its ancient origins confirmed through chemical analysis. This find, now the oldest known wine, surpasses the previous record set by the fourth century AD Speyer wine bottle discovered in 1867.
