World seeing more rain but also getting drier at same time: Study

A study found that although the world is seeing more rain overall, it's also getting drier as rainfall becomes concentrated into heavier storms separated by longer dry spells. Researchers said intense rainfall reduces water absorbed by soil, leaving less for aquifers and ecosystems. It noted a 3.6°F temperature rise could create unusually dry land conditions for 27% of global population.
