World's 1st human death from H3N8 bird flu recorded in China

A Chinese woman has become world's first person to die from H3N8 bird flu that is rare in humans, the World Health Organization (WHO) said. The 56-year-old woman from Guangdong was the third person known to have been infected with H3N8 subtype, the WHO added. All of the cases have been in China, with the first two reported last year.
