World's biggest snake discovered in Amazon rainforest

Scientists have discovered a previously undocumented species of giant anaconda in the Amazon rainforest. The species can grow up to 7.5 metres and weigh close to 500 kg, making it the largest and heaviest snake yet known in the world. The newly discovered species diverged from the previously known southern green anaconda about 10 million years ago, scientists said.
