World's first SMS sells for €107,000 as an NFT at an auction

The world's first SMS that reads "Merry Christmas" was sold for €107,000 (over ₹91 lakh) as a non-fungible token (NFT) at an auction in Paris on Tuesday. Vodafone engineer Neil Papworth sent the SMS from his computer to a manager in the United Kingdom on December 3, 1992. The SMS was put up for auction by British telecommunications company Vodafone.
