World's largest flower Rafflesia nears extinction

The world's largest flower Rafflesia is at risk of extinction due to the destruction of forest habitats in Southeast Asia, scientists have warned. There are 42 species of Rafflesia, and researchers warn that all of them are under threat, with 25 classified as critically endangered. Rafflesia is often called the corpse flower due to its unpleasant smell like rotting flesh.
