World's largest-ever bacterium discovered in Caribbean, pics surface

The world's largest-ever bacterium has been discovered by scientists in a Caribbean mangrove swamp. Called Thiomargarita magnifica, the bacterium can be seen with a naked eye and is approximately the size of a human eyelash. It comes in white filament form and is roughly 50 times larger than all other known giant bacteria, scientists stated.
