World's oldest operating bookshop was established in 1732

The Bertrand bookshop, which was established in 1732 in Lisbon, Portugal, is recognised as the oldest operating bookshop by the Guinness World Records. The bookshop, which is now part of a book store franchise consisting of over 45 other stores throughout Portugal, was recognised as the oldest bookshop in April 2010.
