Wow! A new type of fraud: SC on Jaat Punia man converting to Buddhism for minority reservation

The Supreme Court strongly objected to a petition filed by an upper-caste Hindu man seeking minority reservation benefits after converting to Buddhism. After the petitioner told CJI Surya Kant he was Jaat Punia and had converted, the CJI remarked, "Wow! This is a new type of fraud." The court directed the Haryana government to apprise it of minority certificate guidelines.
