Xbox launches XP unit to expand gaming IP into entertainment

Xbox has created a new division called XP to expand its game franchises into movies, merchandise, live experiences, and partnerships. Led by Kayleen Walters, formerly of Lucasfilm and Mojang, XP comprises four units: Xbox Pictures, Products, Places, and Partnerships. The move follows Minecraft's success as a multi-platform entertainment franchise.
