Xhaka axed from Switzerland squad over fake Covid certificate

Granit Xhaka has been dropped from Switzerland's national team squad after admitting to obtaining a fraudulent Covid-19 vaccination certificate in 2022. The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder apologised on Instagram, saying he acted out of fear. He faces up to five years in jail and is set to stand trial next month.
