Yama Deepam, observed on Dhanteras on November 6 this year, is a Hindu ritual where devotees light a diya facing south to honour Lord Yama, seeking protection from untimely death. The puja muhurat is 6:03–7:19 PM. Rooted in a legend of a bride who outsmarted death, the ritual involves oil lamps lit at the home's main entrance.
