Year after ₹8-crore heist in Qatar, BJP leader surrenders in Kerala

Parappil Balakrishnan, a welder who contested 2025 Kerala local body polls as BJP candidate, surrendered for being among the four men who stole 31 lakh Qatari riyals (around ₹8 crore) from IUML's Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre in Doha in September 2025. He claimed he was lured with a job offer and forced into the robbery. He's among the six accused.
