Yemen needs $3.85 bn to overcome world's worst famine: UN
Yemen is facing the worst famine the world has seen for decades and requires $3.85 billion to overcome it, Mark Lowcock, the UN humanitarian chief, said. "Without that funding, a lot more people will die...in [Yemen]," he added. Gulf countries had contributed generously to UN appeals in 2018 and 2019 but cut back drastically last year, he further said.
