Yogi govt launches ₹134 cr drive to make students sports-ready

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to turn over 1.34 lakh council schools into sports training hubs, allocating ₹134 crore for the initiative. Modelled on the Sports Authority of India, the plan includes 10-day training camps, open gyms, and equipment for schools. The scheme targets rural talent, aiming to produce national and international-level athletes from the state.
