You can file income tax returns even with inoperative PAN Card

The Indian government mandated linking PAN cards with Aadhar by June 2023, making PANs inactive if not linked. However, inactive PANs won't affect income tax return (ITR) filings until July 31, 2024, for FY 2023-24. While ITR can still be filed without Aadhar OTP verification, inactive PANs may hinder refund claims or interest on refunds.
