You don't want India to be secular?: SC on pleas to remove words from Constitution

While hearing a batch of pleas to remove the words 'socialist' and 'secular' from the Constitution's Preamble, Supreme Court asked petitioners, "You don't want India to be secular?" It also said secularism is part of the Constitution's "basic structure" and is its "core feature". The petitioners, including BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, argued the words were added without debate in Parliament.
