If there is a possibility that a person might commit an act that could disturb societal peace or public tranquility, the District Magistrate of the area can issue a show-cause notice under section 126 BNSS, 2023. This notice requests an explanation from the individual as to why a bond should not be imposed to ensure they maintain peace in society.
