A 23-year-old national gold medallist in chess, Vishva Vadoya, broke down after seeing PM Narendra Modi at his Vadodara event. "Modiji, you are my father's god...Whatever I'm today, it's because of you," she said. She credited the Khel Mahakumbh, launched by then-CM Modi in Gujarat in 2010, for giving grassroots athletes a platform and making her who she is today.
