Astronomers have confirmed Elias 2-24 b, a planet less than one million years old, as the youngest known exoplanet. Roughly as massive as Jupiter, it orbits a star about 450 light-years away and is still gathering material from a surrounding disk. Researchers used Keck Observatory data from 2018 and 2020 to confirm the planet.
