Paid internships at 500 top companies with ₹5,000 stipend to youth: Budget

The government will provide 12-month internship opportunities at 500 top companies to 1 crore youth in five years, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in Budget. They will get an internship allowance of ₹5,000 a month along with a one-time assistance of ₹6,000. Companies will be expected to bear the training cost and 10% of the internship cost from CSR funds.
