YouTube has announced a change in its policy for counting views on its platform. Starting August 24, a view will be counted as soon as a video begins playing. However, the company clarified that the change will not affect creators' earnings, which will continue to be based on "Engaged Shorts views" and "Engaged Watch Hours".
