YouTube rolls out AI deepfake detection tool to all 18+ users

YouTube has expanded access to its AI-powered likeness detection tool to all users above 18, allowing anyone to detect and remove AI-generated deepfakes using their face. The tool monitors YouTube for lookalikes and alerts users if their likeness is found, after which they can request YouTube to take down the content. It was first released in October 2025 for creators.
