YouTube is shutting down its video commerce app Simsim, a YouTube spokesperson told Moneycontrol. The company plans to introduce more monetisation opportunities for creators through an affiliate program and more shopping features in 2023, the spokesperson added. Simsim, which was acquired by YouTube in 2021, reportedly posted a loss of ₹157.25 crore on revenues of ₹18.21 crore in 2021-22.
