Zambia govt returns control of Konkola Copper Mines to Vedanta
Vedanta Resources said Zambian government has returned ownership and operational control of Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) to the company. KCM has resources and reserves of 16 million tonnes of contained copper, and its copper grade is 2.3%—significantly higher than the 0.4% average for the world. Vedanta Resources Chairman Anil Agarwal said the company recognises KCM as a valuable asset.
