Zambia returnee tests COVID +ve in Pune, sample tested for Omicron

A 60-year-old man who had recently returned to Pune from Zambia has tested positive for coronavirus and his sample has been sent for genome sequencing to check for Omicron variant. The man had travelled by taxi from Mumbai to Pune. The taxi driver and the patient's family have tested negative for COVID-19 in RT-PCR tests conducted by Pune Municipal Corporation.
