Zelenskyy sparks row by removing plastic water bottle cap at EU summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's act of removing a plastic water bottle cap at a recent European Summit sparked a social media debate over breaking EU’s attached-cap rule. Zelenskyy twisted the cap off instead of leaving it attached. Under the EU’s rule, plastic drink bottles up to three litres must have caps that remain attached after opening to reduce plastic waste.
