Zohran Mamdani attends Pakistan Independence Day celebration in NYC

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani attended a celebration commemorating Pakistan’s Independence Day in New York City. Mamdani said the event was held to honour the contributions made by Pakistani New Yorkers to the city. Mamdani, who is of Indian origin, became New York City’s first Muslim mayor. He is the son of filmmaker Mira Nair and scholar Mahmood Mamdani.
