₹600 crore allocated for PM Modi's SPG protection in Union Budget

In the Union Budget 2020-21, the government increased allocation for the Special Protection Group (SPG), which protects PM Narendra Modi, from ₹540 crore to nearly ₹600 crore. At present, PM Modi is the only person in the country to be protected by the SPG. The SPG cover of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was withdrawn last year.
