103-year-old Independent India's first voter casts vote in Himachal

Shyam Saran Negi, the 103-year-old retired school teacher who had cast the first ever vote during Independent India's first general elections in 1951-52, on Sunday cast his vote at the same booth in Himachal Pradesh's Kalpa village. The local administration accorded a red carpet welcome to Negi, who has voted in all 17 Lok Sabha elections and 13 Assembly elections.
