As many as 179 students from Kashmir, scheduled to write Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination in Jammu on Sunday, were airlifted in an Indian Air Force (IAF) plane on Friday. "Due to heavy snowfall, the valley was cut off...due to closure of national highway and cancellation of flights...[following which] state authorities with IAF...airlifted the students," officials said.
