The first-ever biological matter to sprout on the Moon, a cotton plant, has died because temperatures dropped to -170 degrees Celsius during lunar night. The plant relied on sunlight on the Moon's far side but died within nine days, after the beginning of Chinese rover's first lunar night on Sunday. Chinese media had revealed about the first-ever sprouting on Tuesday.
