The customs officials at the Chennai International Airport on Saturday detained two South Korean women for allegedly smuggling 24 kg of gold worth ₹8 crore. Gold bars weighing 1 kg each were recovered from them, an official said. The duo was reportedly walking suspiciously near the airport, after which they were intercepted by Air Intelligence Unit officers.
