Four women have been killed every day so far this year in Brazil, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) said. IACHR called the rate "alarming" and called upon the Brazilian government to take more steps to prevent and prosecute femicides. Femicide is the killing of a woman by a man because of her gender.
