short by Aarushi Maheshwari / on Thursday, 7 February, 2019
Nearly six years after the Muzaffarnagar riots, a court on Wednesday convicted seven people for killing two cousin brothers in Uttar Pradesh's Kawal village. The incident is believed to have triggered the 2013 riots that left over 60 people dead and displaced over 40,000. The cousins were murdered after allegedly stabbing to death a youth who was harassing their sister.
