Actor Sunny Deol, who made his political debut on BJP ticket from Punjab’s Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, has won with a margin of 82,459 votes. He defeated Congress' Sunil Jakhar, who won the seat in the 2017 by-poll, necessitated after sitting MP Vinod Khanna's demise. Gurdaspur was represented by late actor Khanna four times - 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2014.
