Money spent by governments on high courts and subordinate courts in their respective states, except Delhi, was less than 1% of their total expenditure for 2018-19, a Supreme Court order revealed. Delhi's expenditure on judiciary accounted for 2.08% of its total expenditure. While UP spent highest on judiciary, ₹1,614 crore, it accounted for only 0.35% of the state's total expenditure.
