Alphabet's Verily gets US approval for ECG health watch tech

Google parent Alphabet's life sciences division Verily has received US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval for heart-monitoring electrocardiogram (ECG) technology for its 'Study Watch'. Launched in 2017, the Study Watch is a prescription-only device intended to record, store, transfer and display single-channel ECG rhythms. The latest Apple Watch Series 4 also features an FDA-approved ECG.
