A rare 18th century Chinese vase bought in 1980s for a few hundred pounds has been auctioned for almost £1.5 million (over ₹14 crore). It was purchased by a surgeon and passed from the original owner to his son, who, not realising its true value positioned it in his kitchen. Its value was revealed when an antiques specialist spotted it.
