CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury has said that the leader of an anti-BJP alliance can only be chosen after 2024 Lok Sabha elections and not prior to it. The front cannot be formed pre-polls given the diversity of India, Yechury stated. His remarks come amid ongoing efforts by Opposition leaders, including TMC's Mamata Banerjee, to forge alternate national front without Congress.
