A patent application by Apple has revealed a new mobile biometric system for unlocking cars. Apple said in the application that most key-based systems of today offer only a single layer of protection and are "vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks" and other security issues. The system may even personalise in-car technology settings after recognising the person, the application further suggested.
