After China opposed PM Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, India said Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of it and Indian leaders visit the state as they visit other parts of India. China said it has "never recognised the so-called Arunachal Pradesh" and "urged India to refrain from any action that may lead to escalation of disputes".
