Assam releases 35 vultures into Kaziranga to aid recovery

Assam released 35 critically endangered vultures, 30 white-rumped and 5 slender-billed, into Kaziranga National Park as part of a major reintroduction effort approved by the Central Zoo Authority. Officials say the move aims to revive populations devastated by diclofenac poisoning. A soft-release protocol, community outreach and long-term monitoring will support the species' recovery in the wild.
