Astronomers announce discovery of potential sign of life on Venus

A team of astronomers from the US, UK and Japan announced the discovery of rare molecule 'phosphine' in the clouds of Venus as a potential sign of life on the planet. On Earth, this gas is only made industrially or by microbes that thrive in oxygen-free environments. The team estimates that phosphine exists in Venus' clouds at a small concentration.
