Astronomers map Uranus' upper atmosphere using data from JWT

An international team of astronomers mapped the vertical structure of Uranus’ upper atmosphere using data from James Webb Telescope. They found that temperatures peak between 3,000 and 4,000km above Uranus' clouds. The astronomers said Uranus’ upper atmosphere is still cooling, extending a trend that began in the early 1990s. Two bright auroral bands were detected near Uranus’ magnetic poles.
