Australian director-cinematographer Jeff Darling passed away on Sunday aged 60 while surfing in Sydney's North Palm Beach. He was reportedly unconscious when lifeguards brought him out of the ocean and paramedics were unable to revive him. Jeff became the youngest person to earn the Australian Film Institute's best achievement in cinematography award for his work on 1990 film 'The Crossing'.
