Kavinder Singh Bisht (56kg) beat reigning world champion Kairat Yeraliyev to enter the last four at the Asian Boxing Championships. Sonia Chahal (57kg) advanced to the last-four stage of the women's draw at the event in Bangkok. Also making the semis was national champion Deepak Singh (49kg), whose opponent Afghanistan's Ramish Rahmani gave him a walkover owing to injury.
